Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Sparrow was born in McComb
(Mississippi) on December 2, 1981 and lived in Kentwood (Louisiana). Britney
took dance classes in her youth and was a great gymnast. She won numerous
contests. But, perhaps most importantly, Britney loved to sing. At age 8
Britney was a contestant in The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) however she
was refused because of her age. She was then directed to "Ruthless",
an off-Broadway production, where she starred as the title persona for two
years. At the age of 11, she attempted a second time for The All New Mickey
Mouse Club (1989). The second time, she was a mouseketeer along with many other
popular stars from today, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez (*NSYNC) and Ryan
Gosling. However, her biggest break came in the late 1990s when she was signed
as a Jive Recording Artist. Britney was an enormous success after her first
album, "Baby one more time." "...Baby one more time" in
1999. The album also sold 13 million copies (as of July 2001) of her second
album "Oops !...I did it Again" and was released in May 2000. Britney
was the daughter of Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears. She has one of her brothers
Bryan Spears and a little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was the daughter of
Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston, was always determined to become a
famous. Britney was a candidate for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994)
at the age of was eight. However, she was too old to be considered a suitable
candidate. Britney moved to New York with her mother and infant sibling. She
appeared in a variety of TV advertisements and also served as the understudy of
Natalie Portman in "Ruthless" off-Broadway. Two years later, her love
of dance and music took over. She auditioned again for a role on "Mickey
Mouse" and was picked along with Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera, as well as Justin Timberlake.
