Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on
August 26, 2002) also known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and rapper.
The rapper gained fame through the release of his 2019 single
"Ransom", which was a top 4 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. This track
was part the mixtape he released in his debut "We Love You Tecca"
(2019) that peaked at fourth place on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also
included singles "Love Me", "Did It Again" and "Did It
Again". His debut album called Virgo World (2020), debuted on the Billboard
200 at number 10. It contained the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs
"Dolly", and "When You Down". The second mixtape he
released, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the
songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and others. Tyler-Justin
Anthony Sharpe was the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born on August 26,
2002, in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in Queens in Springfield
Gardens. However, Sharpe later relocated to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe
was a child with aspirations to be a basketball player, however Sharpe switched
to music at age twelve. Sharpe was a student at Lawrence High School. When
Tecca was nine years old, he adapted to his passion for music by rapping with
his friends using his Xbox. They would create diss tracks directed at one
another, one of which was uploaded to SoundCloud many years ago. However, it
was later removed. He initially had no plans to pursue a career in music
although he did dream of becoming a NBA star. However, in his middle school
years, the basketball player lost interest and started to take music more
seriously. The first single he released, "Tectri", which gained some
popularity in the early 2017 was produced with the help of Lil Gummybear. His
other tracks comprise "Callin" as well as "Tectri". The hit
song of his "Ransom," which was first posted to Cole Bennett's
Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd in 2019, marked the beginning of
the meteoric rise of Tecca. The song reached number 4 on Billboard's Hot 100
chart. The track has received more than 900 million Spotify plays and more than
300 million YouTube views.
